Wake Up Call for Wetlands

Sinclair Wetlands

We have less than 10% of our total wetlands remaining in New Zealand. Home to wildlife, they filter water and act as the planet’s kidneys.

Wetlands are not ‘just boggy bits’ to somehow rescue with draining. We need them just as they are – for us and for nature.  Unfortunately, as reported on Radio New Zealand, a recent shows that Southland has lost 10% of its wetlands since 1990. The situation is serious and needs to be halted urgently.
